Mags Orson.
This is a portfolio of my life in Art to celebrate the next chapter in my career.
I am an artist/teacher, spending most of my working life, 31 years at Charterhouse, Surrey. I have chosen to say, ‘farewell old friend’ to give me the space to let my imagination fly…..
Observation is always the beginning. A sunrise during the Spring Equinox, a neolithic burial chamber, or profound experiences such as birth, or grief. My work is primarily autobiographical, and emotional. I work thematically using whatever medium is appropriate, painting, mixed media, film, or sculpture. I use natural materials such as rust, sand, and dirt to define the work.
Although techniques vary, there are recurring preoccupations. Transience, atavism, elemental dissonance, and the tension that can exist between space and matter.
