EQUINOX

SPRING AND AUTUMN EQUINOX EXHIBITION 2020

The Sky Meets the Sea 2020

The Sky Meets the Sea 2020

The process of bringing aspects of life in to balance is a challenge, and an ongoing process. Equinox refers to two moments in the lunar year. They are  similar but not the same, equal, but are different. One will move towards the light, the other towards the darkness. Birth and death.

Equinox grew out of observing the sea and the horizon line during early morning and dusk during the Spring and Autumn Equinox in Cornwall.

Opposing forces are held in equal tension. Light and dark, positive and negative.  Balance, and symmetry. A resolution of conflict.

Shadows are the absence of the light, a negative “drawing” of an object. These are preoccupations I have been experimenting with through film and installations, and endless drawings and paintings from life early in the morning, and at dusk.
